June 26-30: PreK/K Animal Antics!

Summary: Animal Antics! Lions, tigers and bears....not quite! But young scientists can join us for some Animal Antics as they explore the world of live animals. This STEAM program integrates science, technology, engineering, art and math activities while working with fuzzy, furry, scaly, wet and slithery creatures. They will engross young zookeepers in a variety of animal explorations. Young mathematicians will measure distance as they jump like frogs while budding entomologists observe how strong the smallest creatures of the earth can be! July 10-14: PreK/K Fairy Tale Science

Summary: AAALC invites children who are entering PreK or Kindergarten to join us for some Fairy Tale Fun with STEAM programs that integrate science, technology, engineering, art and math activities. This magical one week camp will engross students in a variety of Fairy Tales. Students will become a scientist, explorer, reader, writer and thinker. Learning science through literature activities brings the mind of a young scientist to life! The Frog Prince may take young biologists through a variety of frog related activities as we explore the life cycle of a frog, measure distances, create habitats, understand amphibians and raise your very own tadpoles. Ladies and gentlemen, this is "ribbiting" stuff! Stories like The Three Little Pigs will encourage young engineers through a variety of problems and solutions as they don hardhats to try different building materials to create solutions for our three friends. Students may meet a real live pig and understand the story elements of The Three Little Pigs while working through a variety of reading, writing, social studies, math and science tasks. July 17-21: PreK/K Eating Our Way Through STEM

Summary: Eating Our Way Through STEM (VPK/K) This delicious trip into STEM will cook up some chemistry, melt into math and complete excellent edible engineering projects. Using everyday snacks and cool food items, campers will study various science, technology, engineering and math concepts related to food! Have you ever done math with M&M’s? Do you know how to bounce an egg? What foods “blow up” when you put them together? This is a fun, interactive camp that engages children from start to finish. Note: Campers will be exposed to many different kinds of foods and food prep. They will examine the creepy, the crawly, the silly and the strong as they observe, explore and compare.
