Robotics/Coding (K-3rd/4th-8th)

This is a two-part class that meets on March 29 and April 12. Participants will be divided by grade level to complete different challenges.
 
K-3rd: March 29, K-3 students will build and program DANCING BIRDS, as they research and discover real life examples of birds that dance. If build and programming time allows, children will have the opportunity to build the FLAPPING BIRD and compare and contrast the two robots.  
 
K-3rd: April 12 is all about mammals!  K-3 students will build and program the ROARING LION and the DRUMMING MONKEY.  We’ll explore the attributes of mammals and decipher what makes a mammal.  We will also get to take a quick look into musical instruments and learn a little more about drums and the different beats we can create with our drumming monkey.
 
4th-8th: March 29 and April 12, 4th-8th grade students will work on high level robotics design and programming through the use of Lego Mindstorm EV3 Kits, participants will have a variety of structures and robot builds to choose from.
