Junior Product Designer and Jeweler Badge Classes (Girl Scout Event)

Summary: Junior Girl Scouts can participate in one or both of these classes. The classes will occur back to back with a short break for a snack. During the first class session, Juniors will learn how to think like a product designer, creating new items to solve common problems. They will observe what makes a good product, figure out what's working and innovate to find solutions. They will also learn about women who created products commonly used today. During the second session Juniors will complete activities teaching them how to make different kinds of jewelry from easy to find items. They will turn everyday objects into jewelry, use metal to make jewelry and create jewelry inspired by another culture. Juniors will leave with a special items created during the event. Girls will receive the badge associated with these activities at the end of the sessions. No refunds for absences can be issued more than one week prior to class due to materials and prep cost. more…

Brownie Senses and Home Scientist Badge Classes (Girl Scout Event)

Summary: Brownie can participate in one or both of these classes. The classes will occur back to back with a short break for a snack. During the first class session, Brownies will learn to see the science all around them as they create static electricity and learn some kitchen chemistry. They may just enjoy some of the sweet treats they create! During the second session Brownies will use their five senses to explore the world. Experiments that encourage them to see, hear, touch, smell and taste some silly science. Girls will receive the badge associated with these activities at the end of the sessions. Fragrant or Foul? (Girl Scout Event)

Summary: Participants will learn about the world around them. Juniors will learn the science and beauty of flowers while Brownies will study the bugs that love them! These girls will receive a visit from a very special beekeeper and begin to understand why some of the most beautiful, and some of the most “icky”, things in life are very important to our environment. Brownie Household Elf Badge Class (Girl Scout Event)

Summary: To celebrate Earth Day, participants will learn how to keep their homes clean and green! Brownies will complete activities that teach them how to conserve energy, save water, use locally grown produce and reduce, reuse and recycle. Exploring how common household items can be reused to save the environment, Brownies will leave with a special item created during the event to help our planet. Junior Gardener Badge Class (Girl Scout Event)

Juniors will complete activities that teach them about different gardening techniques, garden designs, seed experimentation and types of gardening. Individual Troop Program Options

All About Achieving Learning Centers provides a certified teacher at our facility to complete the activities and requirements for the badges listed below. The cost is $13 per girl for one troop. Two troops will receive a reduced rate of $12 per girl. An additional cost of $2/girl will be added for the Make Your Own-Robotics due to increased materials costs. The instructor, as well as all materials and supplies, are included in the total cost. Except for the Make Your Own-Robotics badge, troops will be responsible for purchasing their own badges after completion of a 75 minute class. Individual troops can schedule by calling 772-341-1400.
