SPECIAL NOTICE:
 
*Girl Scout Troops who are interested in one week AAALC STEAM Summer Camps will recieve a $50 discount per girl when registering four or more girls for a week long, full day summer camp. Each full day camp will have two corresponding badges or patches. Information on these will be sent to the troop leader for purchase. 
 
*Girls Scout Troops who are interested in a week long, half day summer camp will receive a $25 discount per girl when registering four or more girls for a half day camp. Each half day camp will have one corresponding badge or patch. Information will be sent to the troop leader for purchase. 
 
*Registrations must be completed over the phone (772-341-1400) or in the office to receive this discount. No refunds can be issued. 
 
*The Stop Motion Movie Making Girl Scout Camp July 31 - August 4 is NOT eligible for this offer.

Girl Scout Special Events Registration

Junior Product Designer and Jeweler Badge Classes (Girl Scout Event)

Date: Sat, May 13, 2017, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Summary: Junior Girl Scouts can participate in one or both of these classes. The classes will occur back to back with a short break for a snack. During the first class session, Juniors will learn how to think like a product designer, creating new items to solve common problems. They will observe what makes a good product, figure out what's working and innovate to find solutions. They will also learn about women who created products commonly used today. During the second session Juniors will complete activities teaching them how to make different kinds of jewelry from easy to find items. They will turn everyday objects into jewelry, use metal to make jewelry and create jewelry inspired by another culture. Juniors will leave with a special items created during the event. Girls will receive the badge associated with these activities at the end of the sessions. No refunds for absences can be issued more than one week prior to class due to materials and prep cost. more…

GALS: Girls Actively Learning S.T.E.A.M.! (Girl Scout Event)

Summary: Girl Scouts will join AAALC for this one day STEAM event! Certified teachers will actively engage, astound and educate registered one day campers. This day will be filled with experiments and experiential learning that will take the girls into the world of STEAM and beyond. Local women who are leaders in STEAM fields will stop in throughout the day to share why STEAM education is important in today's world. Brownies will complete the requirements for their Naturalist and Home Scientist Badges and earn a Fun Patch for a "mystery" STEAM activity. Juniors will complete the requirements for their Digital Photography and Entertainment Technology Badges and earn a Fun Patch for a "mystery" STEAM activity. Class sizes are limited. Stop Motion Movie Making (Girl Scout Event)

Summary: Stop Motion Movie Making Girl Scouts will to direct their very own stop motion animated movie. Writers, directors and producers, ages 8 and up, will produce their own movie by: · writing a script · creating a storyboard · developing characters · filming · editing Stop Motion is an animation technique in which students create movies using different objects or characters. Students take a series of still photos, moving their characters based on the script and storyboard they created. The photos are put together and played, adding sound and special effects, to create a moving film. Students are paired to work in teams and create their own movie from start to finish. more…

Individual Troop Program Options

All About Achieving Learning Centers provides a certified teacher at our facility to complete the activities and requirements for the badges listed below. The cost is $13 per girl for one troop. Two troops will receive a reduced rate of $12 per girl. An additional cost of $2/girl will be added for the Make Your Own-Robotics due to increased materials costs. The instructor, as well as all materials and supplies, are included in the total cost. Except for the Make Your Own-Robotics badge, troops will be responsible for purchasing their own badges after completion of a 75 minute class. Individual troops can schedule by calling 772-341-1400. Encourage your GALS-Girls Actively Learning Stem-to attend a class! No refunds for absences can be issued more than one week prior to class due to materials and prep cost.
