It’s Alive!  (Entering Grades VPK-6th(CLOSED)

Lions, tigers and bears....not quite! But young scientists can join AAALC for some animal antics as they explore the world of live animals. This STEAM program integrates science, technology, engineering, art and math activities while working with fuzzy, furry, scaly, wet and slithery creatures. They will engross young zookeepers in a variety of animal explorationsYoung mathematicians may measure distance as they jump like frogs while budding entomologists observe how strong the smallest creatures of the earth can be! Older campers will experience more advanced science processes and be provided with opportunities to experiment with dissection and animal adaptations. Activities and animals will vary each day. Please be aware that children will be interacting with live animals at each session.

Fairy Tales: Princesses, Princes, Castles and Dragons (Entering Grades VPK-6th(CLOSED)

Campers will spend each day reading a fairy tale and working on STEAM related activities. For example, The Frog Prince will take young biologists through a variety of frog related activities as they explore the life cycle of a frog, measure distances, create habitats, understand amphibians and raise their very own tadpoles. Ladies and gentlemen, this is "ribbiting" stuff! The Three Little Pigs will take young engineers through a variety of problems and solutions as they don hard hats to try different building materials, creating solutions for our three friends. Students will meet a real live pig and understand the story elements of The Three Little Pigs while working through a variety of reading, writing, social studies, math and science tasks. There is nothing "boaring" about these lessons!

Minecraft Education: Animal Antics (Entering Grades 1st-8th(CLOSED)

Scientific American declared, "...not only is Minecraft immersive and creative, but it is an excellent platform for making almost any subject area more engaging." Enter a world of rules, parameters, levels and goals that require hard work, intense thinking, teamwork and problem solving skills. Minecraft Education: Animal Antics will provide campers with the tools to build an incredible zoo! Planning, engineering and design will combine to provide students with the tools to create a one of a kind zoo through Minecraft, after studying how other zoos across the country are designed.

Create Your Own Website (Entering Grades 4th-8th(CLOSED)

Campers will learn to create their own website as they are introduced to HTML. They will understand how a website works internally, as well as identify the elements and main pages of web design. Students will learn to create a website using Google Sites, adding pictures, templates and titles. This will include working with hyperlinks, blogs, photos, images and gifs to create a more elaborate product.  Web design and technology is a vital skill that is becoming critical to future success. Campers will be able to take what they learn and expand on concepts independently after camp is over.

Pioneer Days: Campout & S’more! (Entering Grades VPK-6th) (OFF SITE PALM CITY LOCATION)  (CLOSED)

Campers will enjoy a week full of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math as they study the sun, sky, land and sea! Campers will start their week engineering tents and forts, testing stability, building various camping apparatus and planning the "kitchen" chemistry needed to sustain as they "rough it" at AAALC. What kinds of things does one experience in the wilderness? Rock types, clouds in a jar, kite creations, water wheels, energy, bugs and much more... Our scientists will come home with more explorations to share with the family after this ride through the WILDerness! Interact with a variety of animals and become one with nature! This camp is held OFF SITE at a large farm located in Palm City. The address and drop off details will be provided to registered campers by March 30 via email.

Pioneer Days: Cake Decorating Course (OFF SITE PALM CITY LOCATION) (Entering Grades 4th to 8th) 9am-12pm only (CLOSED)

AAALC is putting the Arts in STEAM this summer. Have you ever heard the term "too pretty to eat"? Do you wonder how cake artists create such beautiful desserts? Campers will join a local cake artist Candi Keene of Keene Cakes to learn the skills needed to create detailed masterpieces, bringing home sweet treats as they learn the decorating techniques associated with the use of each tool. They will let their imaginations run wild as they put their skills to the test and learn the various ways art can feed the body and the mind! (There is an additional cost included in the camp fee to cover the extensive materials and supplies needed.) This camp is held OFF SITE at a large farm located in Palm City with full kitchen facilities. The address and drop off details will be provided to registered campers by March 30 via email.
