Scientific American declared, "...not only is Minecraft immersive and creative, but it is an excellent platform for making almost any subject area more engaging." Enter a world of rules, parameters, levels and goals that require hard work, intense thinking, teamwork and problem solving skills. AAALC uses this popular game to provide an academic setting for students. Campers will take a trip that carries them through various mazes, ultimately creating their own as they complete challenges that require them to think critically and plan ahead. This camp will be a week filled with science, technology, engineering and math skills via an a-maze-ing format!

See, hear, taste, smell and touch the science around you! Feel the noise, test your taste buds and feel slime balls as you discover the STEAM behind the five senses. They’ve spent your life helping you to discover the world. Now it’s time to spend a week discovering how they work and the magic behind each one!

The Art of STEAM (CLOSED)
(Entering 2nd – 7th)

The Art of STEAM camp is a week of exciting hands-on integrated learning activities and art projects that focus on the art within STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) curriculum. Through the STEAM mindset, young artists learn that art and design are essential components to understanding the world. The Art of STEAM is meant to be concentrated and active. It is taught by a professional certified educator with teaching experience in the area of STEAM. Campers will learn different art forms that incorporate science, technology, engineering and math as part of the art. Campers enjoy a messy, creative week that completely engages them in STEAM through creative art opportunities.
