The Amazing Race: A Trip Around the Globe

They will visit the Eiffel Tower and then design, build and test the stability of their own tower. They will travel to the Golden Gate Bridge and learn how different structures are built. They will visit the Louvre and create beautiful art related to a favorite piece they might find there. Campers will travel the world in the comfort of AAALC’s amazing science center!

The Startling Science of Nutrition
(Entering 1st-8th)

Are you constantly telling your kids the importance of healthy eating? Do you share with them the impact sugar has on the body? Do they know how to read food labels? Are they aware of the importance of healthy snacks and a good diet? This camp will make eating healthy fun and show your child that nutrition information is available everywhere they look. Through science inquiry and hands on lessons, campers will learn about the sugar content of drinks and cereals, test the enzymes in their spit, compare the fats in different foods and understand the impacts of different food choices on their body. This camp is meant to educate and inform but students will GORGE themselves on DELICIOUS STEAM activities! AAALC gives a special welcome to Burn! Stuart, https://burnbootcamp.com/locations/stuart-fl/, who will spend a bit of time during the week talking to the kids about healthy habits and the importance of taking care of their bodies!

Mad Science Explorations (CLOSED)
(Entering K-8th)

Does your child love Science and Engineering? Does she love to build? Does he have an endless imagination? Mad scientists will explore different aspects of science as they become familiar with the science in their everyday world. Through aerodynamics they will experiment with a variety of flight challenges. They will learn how physics can be fun as they build roller coaster designs and marble mazes. An understanding of how mixtures create shocking results will be developed as they study chemistry through erupting volcanoes, baking soda rockets and more. Campers will become familiar with the critical role robotics plays in their world as they use the LEGO robotics kits to design and program bots to complete simple tasks and solve real-world problems. Campers will wrap up the week of fun exploring gooey, ooey, icky creations.
