The Art of STEAM
(Entering 1st-8th Grade)

The Art of STEAM camp is an intensive week of exciting hands-on integrated learning activities and art projects that focus on the art within STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) curriculum. Through the STEAM mindset, students learn that art and design are essential components to understanding the world.

The Art of STEAM is meant to be concentrated and active. It is taught by a professional certified educator with teaching experience in the area of STEAM. Campers will spend each day working on different art programs that incorporate science, technology, engineering and math as part of the art. They may work with photography through Google Photos, create mosaics, through a combination of painting and photographs, design paper mache vases or sculptures, build a permanent house of cards structure with a twist requiring engineering and design or dye cloth with cochineal and vegetable based dyes to make a picture or wall hanging. Candle and soap making are also popular camper choices. Campers enjoy a messy, creative week that completely engages them in STEAM programming through creative art opportunities.

Creatures, Coding and Creative Challenges
(Entering 1st-8th Grade)

Join us for a week of creativity. Each day campers will investigate exhilarating STEAM challenges themed around Bugs & Reptiles. They will be challenged to design techno creatures, LEGO creatures, and upcycled creatures driven by simple homemade circuits. Campers will learn basic coding as they program their creature designs to race through mazes and obstacle courses.

Robotics/Coding
(Entering VPK – 8th Grade)

Robotics and coding are becoming critical parts of the lives of today's youth. Youth are being prepared for jobs that don't yet exist and need to be prepared to think, create and inspire! Robotics builds science, technology, engineering and math skills, providing students with real world experiences, which provides practice critically thinking about problems and solutions while developing programming skills and team building. AAALC robotics programs begin as young as VPK and encourage students to continue through high school and beyond.

Robotics is a program provided based on the age and skill of the campers. It uses Vex, EV3 and Lego Education WeDo™ materials to provide lessons incorporating science, technology, engineering, and math. Students work together in small groups to build and program various levels of robots. From building working models of alligators, ferris wheels, drumming monkeys and more to building and coding more complex creations.

Once programmed, students use the model for different purposes, experimenting with programming techniques. These educational opportunities encourage students to develop broader communication and language skills through cross curricular projects.
