Geology: Journey to the Center of the Earth  (CLOSED)
Ages 6-15        Mondays        August 28     September 11, 18, 25            $55

Cold air rushing out of a limestone sinkhole atop a big hill is often the first way explorers discover caverns deep under the earth. Once inside stalactites and stalagmites can be found throughout and often beautiful bodies of water. Homeschoolers will take a tour, Virtual Reality style, of some of the most amazing things seen deep inside our earth. They will “unearth” the secrets it holds and learn about what makes up this beautiful planet.

Take A Trip to Colonial Williamsburg
Ages 6-15        Mondays         October 2, 9, 16, 23                                    $55

Step into the 18th century where you’ll meet tradespeople, members of royalty, plantation owners, slave owners, slaves, red coats, the militia, farmers, colonial children and more. Homeschoolers will learn about the region, take a virtual tour, experience a podcast and discuss this time period. Experience soap making, candle making and favorite foods and beverages from this region and time as homeschoolers study the science and engineering behind the structures that make up this historic area. Homeschoolers will be requested to come dressed in period clothing as one of the Colonial Williamsburg community members for the last class.

Buggin’ Out
Ages 6-14        Mondays        November 6, 13, 27     December 4          $55

Homeschoolers will enjoy a week full of STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math as they learn how important insects and bugs are to the world. They will examine the creepy, the crawly, the silly and the strong as they observe, explore and compare. Young entomologists will understand the ecology, classification, behavior, life cycle, population and physiology of insects and bugs. Be careful! Campers may come home with a few new pets.
