Minecraft Education ($159/five class sessions)
All About Achieving Learning Centers would like to welcome you to our program. Your child will experience engaging, interactive, project based learning through programming developed by certified teachers. We hope your child enjoys “MINDcraft” also known around these parts as Minecraft! The schedule is below. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Stop Motion Movie Making ($159/five class sessions)
Movie Making is one of the most complex and involved processes students can complete. From idea to movie involves brainstorming, planning, storyboard, writing, illustration, digital animation, editing, sound and more! Show your young producer, director and writer how movies are made from start to finish. Better yet, let them complete their own movie!
Enjoy “MINDcraft”, also known around these parts as Minecraft!
Minecraft: Fair Trade Rainforest
September 30
This map explores the topic of rainforests and is a trading style game. Students will play the game throughout the week as they learn valuable skills and gain a deeper subject knowledge. During the game the students will all play within the same map with the instructor. They will work as a team harvesting wheat, sugar and cocoa beans. They will sell cakes, cookies, cocoa and bread to the various fair traders in the game.
October 7
As the students play the game there are various information blocks with Rainforest facts and links to different websites. For example just outside the game play area there is an area that is currently being deforested and the information block tells the children about deforestation and how it effects the world’s Rainforests.
October 14
To make the game fun, there are other things hidden around the map for the students to find. For example there is an ancient ruined temple with a tribesman that they will talk to in an effort to find more information about the Rainforest.
October 21
Students will explore other websites to find different age appropriate activities on other topics such as climate change. They will research the Rain Forest Alliance's efforts to preserve remaining rainforests.
October 28
Finally, students will consider the consequences of over-planting. As stated above, the fair trade farm is a trading game. There is, therefore, a financial incentive to clear more land in order to plant more crops, sell more goods and make more profits. But what are the consequences of over-clearing the rainforest? Students will explore what can happen if we over-exploit a finite resource.
From writing a story, designing a set, creating characters, shooting photos, lighting, editing and finally adding sound-your child will write, direct and produce a movie!

Plan Your Story November 4
Students will work today to decide their movie topic, characters and setting. They will learn how to create a story plan in pictures and prepare an exciting story idea to describe: What? Where? When? Who? How? Students will begin designing a simple storyboard using pictures and brief descriptions.
A Star Is Born-Set the Scene November 11
Students will begin to create the set and characters represented in their storyboard. Students will complete the storyboard and begin preparing the characters and backdrop for their movies. Those students who would like to do clay characters will build each one. All students will complete the backdrop, props, character and prep to begin production.
Lights, Camera, Action November 18
Once the story is planned and the set is created, students are ready to begin filming. Students will use a tripod and camera to ensure the focus and lighting will not change during filming and the pictures will remain stationary. They will learn to zoom in and out and coordinate the events in the movie with the lighting, photograph and motions of the characters.
The Reel Deal December 2
Students will complete the photographs and begin to download the pictures. The students will take hundreds of photos, moving the characters and props slightly with each storyboard event. Students will put the frames in the order they want and create a title. The movie will be ready to preview and save.
The Final Touches-Credits and Soundtrack December 9
After previewing the movie, students will make additional edits. The timing and repetition of each frame will be edited. Students will add the title frame and the credits. Last but not least, students can create a soundtrack using their voice, musical instruments and other sounds. They will edit, review and save their final product in preparation for the premier! Join us 20 minutes prior to dismissal for the show!
