STEAM Into Shark Week! (CLOSED)
(Entering PreK-7th Grade)

Discovery Channel’s 2019 Shark Week is here and we are celebrating with the millions of Shark Week lovers worldwide. Join us for a captivating week full of the ocean’s most feared creatures. Campers will face their fears and study sharks through hands on – and lands on -- STEAM activities that will also introduce them to various science experiments related to the ecosystems in which sharks live. Science and engineering labs will do everything from allowing students to build and apply shark tags to dissecting one of several ocean creatures. Young marine biologists will learn sharks, our oceans and the animals that live in them! Once you get home, tune into Discovery Channel to learn even more.

STEAM Into the Olympics 2020! (CLOSED)
(Entering PreK– 7th Grade)

USA! USA! While US Olympic athletes are in Tokyo competing for gold this week, campers in Stuart will be diving into the Olympics with STEAM related activities that will win a gold medal! Use a carbon filter to clean a colored sports drink. Create your own “football” table. Experience, make and test a bow and arrow. Understand biomimicry and learn about the geometry behind the game of baseball and softball. The Olympics are full of fascinating facts and figures and the only way to truly enjoy them is to learn how STEAM has a big impact on the sports and performance!

Minecraft Education: The Amazing Race (CLOSED)
(Entering 1st-7th Grade)

Scientific American declared, "...not only is Minecraft immersive and creative, but it is an excellent platform for making almost any subject area more engaging." Enter a world of rules, parameters, levels and goals that require hard work, intense thinking, teamwork and problem solving skills. AAALC uses this popular game to provide an academic setting for students. Campers will take an amazing race around the globe to discover and recreate various famous places as they explore the world of Minecraft. They will travel through the week learning about environments, systems and science! 

FARM-tastic Fun! (Location: Justin Time Stables) (CLOSED)
Entering Grades K – 8:
Campers will be separated by grade level and complete age appropriate projects

AAALC will be "horsing around" with Justin' Time Stables this summer! Join us as we "partner" for a week long Summer Camp full of animal antics and related STEAM experiences! Students will work in small groups each with an assigned camp counselor. Certified teachers will create and direct learning stations that provide a variety of interactive experiences. The days will be filled with things like fishing, gardening, rustic art, horseback riding, fine feathered friends, rascally rabbits, portly pigs and much more. All activities focus on education and farmyard fun. Students will complete activities such as building and programing robots, unearth slimy creatures important to gardening and bring home a variety of crafty creations. Several expert guest speakers will visit the group throughout the week to share knowledge related to farming. Parents will drop off and pick up at the farm each day. The camp runs from 9:00am-3:00pm. There is no Extended Day option for off site programs.
 

Important Notice: Camps fill up quickly. If registration options aren’t open for specific selections, then they are not available. Contact 341-1400 to be placed on a Waiting List. Cancellations requested more than two weeks prior to camp will incur a $35 cancellation fee. Cancellations within two weeks of camp may not be refunded unless there is a camper on the Waiting List. A $35 cancellation fee will still be applied. Extended Day is available by calling the office at 341-1400 to request to be placed on the list. There is an additional $5 charge for each day. Regular camp hours for students entering 1st-8th grade are from 9:00am-3:30pm with Extended Day services offered from 8:30am-5:15pm. PreK/K student hours differ slightly.
