June 8 – June 12
It’s Alive! (Entering Grades PreK – 4th)
Lions, tigers and bears....not quite! But young scientists can join AAALC for some animal antics as they explore the world of live animals. This STEAM program integrates science, technology, engineering, art and math activities while working with fuzzy, furry, scaly, wet and slithery creatures. Young mathematicians may measure distance as they jump like frogs while budding entomologists observe how strong the smallest creatures of the earth can be! Older campers will experience more advanced science processes and be provided with opportunities to experiment with dissection and animal adaptations. Activities and animals will vary each day. Please be aware that children will be interacting with live animals at each session.
Magical World of Disney (Entering Grades PreK – 4th)
Build Elsa’s castle and Moana’s canoe to withstand a storm! Engineer an underwater escape route for Ariel, mix potions for Honey Lemon in Big Hero 6 and create a roadster for Mickey Mouse! How do roller coasters work? Can you build one? Campers will join us as we STEAM into the wonderful world of all things Disney and discover some of the secrets behind the magic. Campers will take virtual tours and learn some tricks used to create magic!
Battlebots: Robotics, Coding and Battle (Entering Grades 1st - 8th)
Campers will learn how robots are built, build their own robots and then compete in friendly competition to see who can outwit and outdrive the other! Robotics and coding are becoming critical parts of the lives of today's youth. Youth are being prepared for jobs that don't yet exist and need to be able to think, create and inspire! Robotics builds science, technology, engineering and math skills, providing students with real world experiences. Campers will practice thinking critically about problems and solutions while developing programming skills and team building. AAALC robotics programs begin as young as kindergarten and encourage students to continue through high school and beyond.
Minecraft Education: Animal Antics (Entering Grades 1st - 8th)
Minecraft Education: Animal Antics will provide campers with the tools to build an incredible zoo! Planning, engineering and design will combine to provide students with the tools to create a one-of-a-kind zoo, after studying how other zoos across the country are designed.
Young Animators (Entering Grades 3rd - 8th)
In this camp students will learn about their favorite elements of the cartoon world – movies, parts of the story, songs and characters – and bring them to life through drawing! Students will work at their own pace to follow instructions to develop art skills as they learn to draw characters like Disney, Looney Tunes, Pokémon, Pixar and more.
