Pioneer Days: Campout & S’more! (Entering Grades K - 6th)
Campers will enjoy a week full of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math as they study the sun, sky, land and sea! Campers will start their week engineering tents and forts, testing stability, building various camping apparatus and planning the "kitchen" chemistry needed to sustain as they "rough it" at AAALC. What kinds of things does one experience in the wilderness? Rock types, clouds in a jar, kite creations, water wheels, energy, bugs and much more... Our scientists will come home with more explorations to share with the family after this ride through the WILDerness! Interact with a variety of animals and become one with nature! Note: Participants should wear close-toed shoes, sunscreen and old clothes. Please do not register your child for this camp if he/she has allergies that will be dangerous to participation. Pioneer Days: Cooking: Farm to Table (Entering Grades 2nd– 6th)
This delicious trip into healthy habits, gardening, cooking and more will teach campers how to eat from farm to table! They will learn to read labels as well as prepare and identify real food that is nourishing for their body and mind! This fun, interactive camp engages children from start to finish. Campers will learn various gardening techniques and will prepare healthy foods daily from fresh produce, making various foods from scratch! Note: Campers will be exposed to many kinds of foods and food prep. Please do not register for this camp if your child has food allergies that will be dangerous to participation.
