SUMMARY:July 25-29: Pioneer Days Farm to Table & Gettin' Dirty (OFF SITE FARM LOCATION)
DESCRIPTION:Pioneer Days: Gettinâ Dirty (Entering VPK-7th) (OFF SITE LOCATION) (CLOSED)\n\nCampers will be immersed in the daily cycle of the farm as they discover the wonder of the natural world. From collecting eggs to learning about the animal family that make up a farm community to studying pond life\, baking bread\, making butter and ice cream and creating their own gardens. Campers will take a trip into our natural world to learn the science behind bees\, bugs\, ponds\, animals and so much more. Students will learn the amazing contributions of various natural wonders as they study the science related to each one. Learning will extend beyond the classroom with a plethora of hands-on experiments that give campers a glimpse into the wonders that surround us. Campers will get dirty as they work in the mud kitchen and search for natural items that will be used to make art projects. Science says that playing in the dirt âlowers blood pressure\, reduces stress and increases Vitamin Dâ. Mud pies anyone? Note: Participants should wear close toed shoes\, sunscreen and old clothes. Please do not register your child for this camp if he/she has allergies that will be dangerous to participation. This camp is heldÂ OFF SITE at a large ranchÂ located at 8251 SW Citrus Boulevard in Palm City.Â \n\nPioneer Days: Farm to Table: You Are What You Eat (Entering 4th â 7th grade) 9:00am-3:00pmÂ (OFF SITE LOCATION) (CLOSED)\n\nThis delicious trip into STEAM will cook up some chemistry\, melt into math and complete excellent edible engineering projects. Using farm to table foods\, campers will study various STEAM concepts related to healthy food! This is a fun\, interactive camp that engages children from start to finish. Campers will learn various gardening techniques and will prepare healthy lunches daily from fresh produce and make various foods from scratch! Note: Campers will be exposed to many different kinds of foods and food prep. Campers will not need to bring lunch unless they want an alternative to the daily meal prepared. Please do not register your child for this camp if he/she has food allergies that will be dangerous to participation.
