Hands on experiments including edible aquifers\, homemade thermometers\, weathering\, erosion\, precipitation and surprises related to space and the solar system will challenge them. They will experience the thrill of being a meteorologist as they create a produce a weather report using AAALC’s green screen technology as they rise to the challenge to better understand the impacts of weather and space on our world.                      \n\nLearn to Draw Anime (Entering Grades 4th-8th)  (CLOSED)\n\nArtists attending will learn how to draw original Anime characters from simple templates\, adding proportions to the face and features. They will experiment with variations of heads and learn how to draw hair on male and female characters. A study in proportions for the body of the character\, adding clothes\, props and backgrounds\, will create a finished product. The use of color will be included and provide final renderings for students to take home and keep. The skills learned in this camp will provide a foundation for future independent work at home.                        \n\nCake Decorating Course (Entering Grades 4th to 8th) (CLOSED)\n\nAAALC is putting the Arts in STEAM this summer. Have you ever heard the term "too pretty to eat"? Do you wonder how cake artists create such beautiful desserts? Campers will join a local cake artist Candi Keene of Keene Cakes to learn the skills needed to create detailed masterpieces\, bringing home sweet treats as they learn the decorating techniques associated with the use of each tool. They will let their imaginations run wild as they put their skills to the test and learn the various ways art can feed the body and the mind! (There is an additional cost included in the camp fee to cover the extensive materials and supplies needed.) X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
