(Entering Grades VPK-1st) (CLOSED)\n\nYoung scientists will be out on the loose as they explore the wild world of Dr. Seuss!\n\nScience\, technology\, engineering and math (STEM) will take campers down an incredible path.\n\nStack the catâs hat and engineer a zoo\, these STEM activities will stump just a few.\n\nApples\, butter\, green eggs and ham\; make and create them. They arenât just for Sam!\n\nYertle the Turtle\, Blue Fish and moreâ¦.you never know what lessons might be in store.\n\nTake a car\, bike or train\; or just come on two feet. You canât find this camp on Mulberry Street.\nÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â \n\nAmazing Race: A Trip Around the Globe-Google Earth/Virtual Reality (Entering Grades 1st-8th) (CLOSED)\n\nCampers will get their passports stamped as they take a trip around the globe using Google Earth\, Virtual Reality\, Engineering & Design\, LEGO and much more. Groups will be separated by age for grade appropriate activities that will challenge campers who may visit the Eiffel Tower and then design\, build and test the stability of their own tower. From there they may choose to travel to the Golden Gate Bridge to discover how different structures are built. They may experience the Louvre and create beautiful art related to a favorite piece found there. Campers will travel the world in the comfort of AAALCâs amazing science center!Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â \n\nDNA to Dissection (Entering Grades 1st-8th ) (CLOSED)\n\nDo you know that you can pull the DNA out of a strawberry\, banana or even a fertilized chicken egg? Do you know how to build a DNA strand that you can eat? Have you observed what is inside different animals and what makes humans healthy? Future doctors\, or simply budding scientists who are insatiably curious\, will experience the wonder of humans\, plants and animals and discover what makes them tick! Hands on experiences\, virtual dissection and actual dissection will occur but will be age appropriate and will be taught in conjunction with a respect and admiration for nature\, animals and the world around us.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â \n\nComputer Build and Code (Entering Grades 2nd-8th) (CLOSED)\n\nThis camp is limited to twelve participants who will build their own computer through a step-by-step process. This will include experience with programmable LED lights\, case\, power buttons\, wireless keyboard with track pad\, memory\, HDMI and power cable as well as various coding challenges and apps. Once completed\, campers will use their computers to browse the internet\, watch YouTube\, write stories and access various appropriate apps. AAALC is utilizing Kano technology which is trusted by over 2000 schools and code clubs and won the family choice award in additional to others. This camp is for students ages 6 and up and doesnât require any previous technical knowledge. Students will not take their computers home at the end of camp.\n\nRUSH: Video Game Design (Partnership: Camp held at RUSH in Jensen)\n(Entering Grades 1st-7th ) (CLOSED)\n\nAAALC and RUSH are teaming up to offer a one of a kind STEAM campÂ experience. Campers will spend a week at RUSH Trampoline Park in Jensen Beach exploring the technology behind developing a video game that includes jumping\, flipping and parkour! Is your child familiar with how to develop their own video games? Campers will use computer technology to build and design their own video games. They will create characters and settings and will continue by tellingÂ their stories through a game board that is brought to life with technology\, transforming learning from the paper and putting the final product into the hands of campers. They can test their own jumping and movement capabilities at RUSH! Cost includes all jumps\, one pair of socksÂ and related course materials. (NOTE: This is an off site event from 9:00am-3:00pm. No Extended Day is available. Comfortable clothes suitable for jumping and physical activityÂ should be worn.Â Campers will be dropped off and picked up at RUSH in Jensen Beach. Lunch is available for purchase for $2.50-Pizza or Hot Dog and $5.00 Hamburger or Chicken Sandwich. Both options include a soda.
