AAALC is putting the Arts in STEAM. Have you ever heard the term "too pretty to eat"? Do you wonder how cake artists create such beautiful desserts? Students will join a local cake artist to learn the skills needed to create detailed masterpieces\, bringing home sweet treats as they learn the decorating techniques associated with the use of each tool. They will let their imaginations run wild as they put their skills to the test and learn the various ways art can feed the body and the mind! Incoming 3rd through 8th graders will meet from 2:00pm-3:30pm Tuesdays. All costs to cover materials/supplies needed for each program are included. Instruction and projects will be adjusted to the age and abilities of the campers.

Ignite Sports will join AAALC once per week with a proven curriculum that introduces students to Physical Education\, Health/Wellness and Sports\, motivating young people to embrace a healthy lifestyle at an early age while learning the rewards of teamwork and the fundamentals of sports and fitness.

FIRST LEGO League teams for children ages 5 – 15 are available via the FIRST LEGO League tab on this site. FIRST LEGO League Junior Discovery series is a new for our pint sized scientists will be offered in six week sessions. This year’s First LEGO League Jr Discovery challenge is Boomtown Build! Teams of 4-6 children will learn how structures are built and explore some of the problems of designing buildings for different purposes\, that can be used for lots of different people. Teams will think and behave like architects and engineers\, developing their ability to work as a team\, observe\, answer questions\, gather information\, listen\, take turns\, share ideas\, collaborate and think critically. Additional challenges will be provided to families to complete at home. No experience is required!

Cold air rushing out of a limestone sinkhole atop a big hill is often the first way explorers discover caverns deep under the earth. Once inside stalactites and stalagmites can be found throughout and often beautiful bodies of water. Homeschoolers will take a tour\, Virtual Reality style\, of some of the most amazing things seen deep inside our earth. They will “unearth†the secrets it holds and learn about what makes up this beautiful planet and complete a variety of related experiments.                    Â

It's full S.T.E.A.M. ahead as we board The Polar Express! Can participants make it to the North Pole by completing various related science\, technology\, engineering and math challenges? Students will create their own "bell"\, study gravity in order to fly\, build a bridge for the train\, design a toy and create a gift box. Will they be able to handle the journey and its challenges to share hot chocolate and cookies with Santa? We shall see....
\n*Registration for these courses must be done through the website and are separate from full day homeschool classes that are offered. There are no sibling discounts or multi class discounts as space is very limited and classes fill quickly.
