DESCRIPTION:STEAM Into Shark Week! (CLOSED- CALL TO BE ON WAITLIST)\n(Entering PreK-7th grade)\n\nDiscovery Channelâs 2019 Shark Week is here and we are celebrating with the millions of Shark Week lovers worldwide. Join us for a captivating week full of the oceanâs most feared creatures. Campers will face their fears and study sharks through hands on â and lands on -- STEAM activities that will also introduce them to various science experiments related to the ecosystems in which sharks live. Science and engineering labs will do everything from allowing students to build and apply shark tags to dissecting one of several ocean creatures. Young marine biologists will learn sharks\, our oceans and the animals that live in them! Once you get home\, tune into Discovery Channel to learn even more.\n\nMinecraft Education: Biome (CLOSED- CALL TO BE ON WAITLIST)\n(Entering 1st â 8th grade)\n\nScientific American declared\, "...not only is Minecraft immersive and creative\, but it is an excellent platform for making almost any subject area more engaging." Enter a world of rules\,Â parameters\, levels and goals that require hard work\, intense thinking\, teamwork and problem solving skills. AAALC uses this popular game to provide an academic setting for students.Â Campers will create various biomes and build a world around each based on the surrounding environment. This camp will be a week filled with science\, technology\, engineering and math skills via this engaging\, interactive format!\n\n3D Printing (CLOSED- CALL TO BE ON WAITLIST)\n(Entering 2nd-7th grade)Â \nÂ  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â  Â Â \nStudents will learn the intricacies of 3D design and printing. Â They will find and create models through various available software programs and then prepare the model for printing on a 3D printer by making design adjustments\, creating code and managing printer functions. Various project options will be offered and students will bring home a final project at the end of the week. Campers will also be provided with tips/tricks to use at home to continue the design portion of their learning after camp is over..\n\nGolf World: Swing Into STEAM (Location: 76 Golf World)\n(Entering 1st- 7th grade)\n\nAAALC and 76 Golf World are teaming up to offer a one of a kind summer camp experience. Campers will spend the week at 76 Golf World exploring the science behind Golf\, Go Karts\, Krazy Kars\, Gyro Extreme\, Shooting Hoops and other Adventure Attractions located at this popular Martin County attraction. Half the day will be spent in the amazing upstairs party room/classroom\, learning the science behind these fun activities\, while the other half will be spent experiencing and experimenting with what they have learned. Not only can you play pinball but you can build a game as well! What is the difference between kinetic\, potential and thermal energy and why does it matter in golf? Campers will be taught and supervised by certified teachers and will participate in a variety of science\, technology\, engineering and math activities prior\, during and after participation in on site attractions.
