Students take a series of still photos\, moving their characters based on the script and storyboard they created. Students are paired to work in teams and create their own movie from start to finish.\n \nMovie Making is one of the most complex and involved processes students can complete. From idea to movie involves brainstorming\, planning\, storyboard\, writing\, illustration\, digital animation\, editing\, sound and more! AAALC will show your young producer\, director and writer how movies are made from start to finish. Better yet\, let them complete their own movie! Campers will use clay\, Legos or other materials to create characters and design backdrops\, ultimately producing their own animated movie. \n \nOur Community: Backyard Biomes\n(Entering 1st-8th Grade)\n \nCampers will take a virtual trip of Martin County’s most famous waterways as they set off through a study of the rivers in our area. Campers will engage in a variety of lessons related to Florida's ecosystems with an emphasis on the Everglades\, St. Lucie River and Indian River Lagoon. Campers will create and study oyster beds\, pollution and the impact of water releases on our environment.\n \nCampers will take a deep dive in to our waterways and ecosystems to provide solutions to some of our communities most pressing problems. Lessons on how to be active in local politics\, speaking confidently to provide solutions\, will be taught and students will be provided with opportunities to share their ideas with local elected officials via speaking engagements at public meetings and/or communicating in a variety of written forms or social media forums. \n \nFamilies will be provided with information on the Locks\, located in Stuart\, that they can visit together to view the Locks system in action in addition to a tour of the museum and grounds for lessons on how the Locks system is important to our community. \n \nRobotics/Coding \n(Entering 1st-8th Grade)\n \nRobotics and coding are becoming critical parts of the lives of today's youth. Youth are being prepared for jobs that don't yet exist and need to be prepared to think\, create and inspire! Robotics builds science\, technology\, engineering and math skills\, providing students with real world experiences\, which provides practice critically thinking about problems and solutions while developing programming skills and team building. AAALC robotics rograms begin as young as kindergarten and encourage students to continue through high school and beyond.\n \nRobotics is a program provided based on the age and skill of the campers. It uses Vex\, EV3 and Lego Education WeDo™ materials to provide  lessons incorporating science\, technology\, engineering\, and math. Students work together in small groups to build and program various levels of robots.
