SUMMARY:June 20-June 24: Engineering and Design\, Stop Motion Movie Making & Gross Science
DESCRIPTION:Engineering and Design\nEntering Grades 1 – 7: Campers will be separated by grade level and complete age appropriate projects.\n \nStudents will build structures to understand forces\, materials and building concepts. Students will research information and then be provided with direct\, practical experience for linking this research to scientific ideas. Using experimentation and modeling to creatively solve problems\, students will see the various solutions to everyday engineering problems. This STEAM topic will include such lessons as: teamwork\, problem solving\, science\, technology\, math\, communication\, analyzing and evaluating information\, digital design\, technical drawings and geometry.\n \nStop Motion Movie Making\nEntering Grades 3 – 7: Campers will be separated by grade level and complete age appropriate projects.\n \nMovie Making is one of the most complex and involved processes students can complete. From idea to movie involves brainstorming\, planning\, storyboard\, writing\, illustration\, digital animation\, editing\, sound and more! AAALC will show your young producer\, director and writer how movies are made from start to finish. Better yet\, let them complete their own movie! Campers will use clay\, Legos or other materials to create characters and design backdrops\, ultimately producing their own animated movie. Join your child on the last day of camp for an AAALC Movie Premier!\n \nGross Science!\nEntering Grades 1 – 7: Campers will be separated by grade level and complete age appropriate projects.\n \nEw! Students will complete science experiments and create different substances that look gross\, feel gross or smell gross! This camp isn't for the faint of heart and is for students who love to get dirty. Studying the chemical and physical properties of a variety of substances will create fantastic\, albeit disgusting\, results. Topics include:\nGross Bodily Functions - Snot\, Edible Skin\, Spit and Taste: They’re related?\, Flatulence Journal\nGerms - Germ Garden\, Traveling Germs\, Microbes\, Effectiveness of Soap/Toothpaste\, Bacteria\nGross Food - Spoiled Milk\, They Eat What?\, Rubber Eggs\nWhat’s That Smell? - Smell Ya Later\, Garbage Art\, 15 Worst Odors  \nAnimals and Scat - Musical Roaches\, Worm Farm\, Drinkable Blood\, Match that Scat\, Bird Poop Art
