Animal Antics: It’s Alive!
(1st-7th grade is CLOSED. Call to be placed on a waiting list. PreK has a few spots open.)
(Entering PreK – 7th grade)

Lions, tigers and bears....not quite! But young scientists can join us for some Animal Antics as they explore the world of live animals. This PreK STEAM program integrates science, technology, engineering, art and math activities while working with fuzzy, furry, scaly, wet and slithery creatures. There are two sessions and each meets for four weeks. They will engross young zookeepers in a variety of animal explorations. Young mathematicians will measure distance as they jump like frogs while budding entomologists observe how strong the smallest creatures of the earth can be! Two sessions, consisting of four classes each, will be offered with different activities in each session. Please be aware that children will be interacting with live animals at each session.

Minecraft: Zany Zoo! (CLOSED-CALL FOR WAIT LIST)
(Entering Grades 1 – 7)

Scientific American declared, "...not only is Minecraft immersive and creative, but it is an excellent platform for making almost any subject area more engaging." Enter a world of rules, parameters, levels and goals that require hard work, intense thinking, teamwork and problem solving skills. AAALC uses this popular game to provide an academic setting for students. Zany Zoo will provide campers with the tools to build an incredible zoo! Planning, engineering and design will combine to provide students with the tools to create a one of a kind zoo through Minecraft, after studying how other zoos across the country are designed.

Mad Science Explorations (CLOSED-CALL FOR WAIT LIST)
(Entering K-8th  Grade)

Does your child love Science and Engineering? Does she love to build? Does he have an endless imagination? Mad scientists will explore different aspects of science as they become familiar with the science in their everyday world. Through aerodynamics they will experiment with a variety of flight challenges. They will learn how physics can be fun as they build roller coaster designs and marble mazes. An understanding of how mixtures create shocking results will be developed as they study chemistry through erupting volcanoes, baking soda rockets and more. Campers will become familiar with the critical role robotics plays in their world as they use the LEGO robotics kits to design and program bots to complete simple tasks and solve real-world problems. Campers will wrap up the week of fun exploring gooey, ooey, icky creations.
